Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Lia! Life is messy, and together, we have a chance to be creative with the challenges you have faced. I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, self-esteem challenges, body image issues, anxiety, and depression. Practicing from a culturally sensitive lens, I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy because I believe you are the expert of your own experience. I welcome you to reach out when you feel ready. My approach I utilize CBT and DBT for a reflective approach to support you in identifying challenging thoughts and behavioral patterns. In addition, I hope to provide you with skills to navigate difficult challenges and empower you to make the best choices for yourself. I work from a holistic lens, factoring in the many aspects of your life that inform your presenting challenges. My approach may change based on your unique needs to incorporate mindfulness, inner child work, exposure work, and/or art-based modalities. My focus I work with adults managing anxiety, adjustment challenges, communication difficulties, and self-esteem issues in an ever-changing and uncertain world. As an ally of the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Alternative Lifestyle, and BDSM/Kink communities, I practice from a culturally sensitive and humble lens. Whether you've been managing these challenges briefly or for a lifetime, I will work with you to create a framework that fosters your growth in a way that feels empowering and attainable. My communication style I prioritize a safe, nonjudgmental environment to foster a culture of support and open communication between us. I am an active listener and provide opportunities for reflection as a validating and empathic collaborator. If we engage in challenging work, you can expect me to be patient, calm, and open-minded. I hold a Master's degree in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University, which informs my use of creative and expressive modalities in therapy to support your healing journey.
