Getting to know Linda Flores

Hi, I'm Linda Flores, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas, Austin. I'm here to provide you with a judgment-free zone where you can reflect on how you want to live your life. I typically support young adults and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, family conflict, generational differences, or life dissatisfaction related to work or relationships. My approach My approach to therapy is very client-centered, trauma-informed, and individualized to fit your needs. I don't believe the same theoretical approach works for everyone. However, I tend to draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic theories to guide my practice. I also consider cultural and social factors, as these often impact our decision-making. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for people?typically young adults or adolescents?who feel confused or overwhelmed by relationships, work, generational differences, or life transitions. This can sometimes present as depression, anxiety, or burnout. I work with you to help you feel more self-assured and satisfied with your life. My communication style You can always expect me to be calm, friendly, flexible, and most of all, empathic. I understand that it takes time to trust someone and that opening up about your thoughts and feelings may not come naturally, so I will meet you at your pace. I am here to listen to you in a judgment-free zone. My journey to mental healthcare As a first-generation Latina, I often felt lost and confused about my life choices. There was a lot of pressure on me to succeed, but I never had someone to guide me through new experiences that my family knew little about. My own experience motivated me to support others going through a similar process, which is why I became a therapist.
