Hi there, I'm Linda! Hi, I’m Linda Huey, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California. I work as an interpersonal and client-centered therapist, treating my clients like the most important person in the room and helping you create a space to better understand yourself and improve your life. My approach I believe the relationship with your therapist heals whatever is bothering you. I practice empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. Walking the walk instead of just talking the talk is what I do every day with my clients. I help you get to the essence of things and “keep it real.” I also practice family systems theory with individuals—the people who have affected your psychological and emotional development don’t need to be in the room. My focus As a queer Latina in recovery, I have a long history of working with marginalized communities such as LGBTQ+ people of color, working-class folk, and those facing substance abuse. I don’t limit myself to these populations because anyone brave enough to ask for help is a star in my book. Representation matters. My communication style I create a safe environment with zero shame or judgment. I also believe laughter is the best medicine. We’ll keep it real while having fun and building agency and strength within you. My journey to mental healthcare I’ve always gravitated toward helping adolescents in high school. I decided to become a high school counselor and discovered therapy along the way. An amazing first clinical supervisor taught me how powerful a healthy, professional relationship can be in healing hearts and minds. I pursued my Master’s in School and Marriage and Family Counseling at San Francisco State University, with specializations in school (K-12) and college counseling. I earned my Bachelor’s from the University of California, Berkeley. I was lucky to find my passion early and have never looked back.
