Getting to know Lindsey Amtoft

Lindsey is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 16 years of experience providing therapeutic counseling, case management, and intervention services to children, adults, and families in private practice, service agency, and clinic settings. She has worked as a child development specialist in home and agency environments and currently spends much of her time working within a non-profit, clinical setting. Lindsey is pursuing her doctoral degree (PsyD) in psychology, public policy, and law at Alliant International University to support and advocate for children and families involved in high-conflict and custodial litigation disputes. Throughout her career, Lindsey has worked diligently to develop and implement long-term, innovative, team-based projects. She has collaborated with county-wide programs, school districts, and local agencies, served on multiple interdisciplinary teams, and supervised staff within the mental health field. Lindsey has facilitated adult groups focusing on pregnancy, stillbirth, and infant loss for over ten years in various clinic, county, and hospital settings. She also advocates for children on the Autism spectrum and their families who may face challenges navigating school-based, court-related, and mental health supports. Lindsey's passions include offering parenting support, promoting positive communication and values, supporting clients through grief and loss, and aiding parents and siblings of individuals with special needs in various capacities, among other psychosocial topics and education. Her goal is to meet clients where they are and work toward a compassionate, collaborative, and mutual understanding where forward progress supports health and overall wellbeing.
