Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Lindsey! My name is Lindsey McLaughlin, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master?s in Social Work from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I primarily work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and life adjustments, using an attachment lens, compassion, and support. My approach I utilize a mix of modalities, focusing on identifying distressing patterns to provide support and collaborate on helpful interventions. My goal is to foster self-compassion, curiosity, and understanding to make meaningful and lasting change. My most common therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, and the lens of Attachment Theory. My focus I enjoy working with clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or major life transitions. I also have a lot of experience and comfort working with clients who have difficulty accessing their emotions or describe themselves as less emotional than others, due to the often misunderstood core root of this experience. My communication style The environment of my sessions is supportive, compassionate, and relational. I believe our relationship and trust with one another are among the most important aspects of therapy. I also strive to have sessions feel productive and goal-oriented. My journey to mental healthcare My passion has always been helping others and analyzing on a deep level. I enjoy looking beyond surface-level conversation for roots and connections. After years working in child welfare and the education system, I?ve found therapy to be an incredibly impactful and needed resource in the world! Many of us have learned to live by white-knuckling through life, and I?ve made it my mission to support those who are taking the time to slow down and question if they are ready to do some things differently now. My goals for you Goal setting with clients is a collaborative experience, grounded in understanding your concerns and goals.
