Lisa Criswell, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Lisa! Hello, my name is Lisa Criswell, and I am a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#118016). I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Fresno, and my Bachelor’s degree from Walden University. My goal is to create a safe and trusting environment for you to explore and overcome challenges while providing the emotional support you need. I have focused on working with individuals coping with trauma, anxiety, and depression to help them learn coping skills to become the best version of themselves. I have also supported individuals through life transitions such as career changes, divorces, and the aging process. I love my work as a therapist and would be happy to be part of your journey. My approach I use an eclectic approach, pulling relevant techniques from evidence-based treatments to provide an individualized plan. This allows me to tailor each session to your unique needs for more effective treatment. I commonly use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. CBT is the foundation of my practice and helps challenge distorted thinking, while mindfulness focuses on acceptance and present-moment awareness. I also incorporate motivational interviewing, cognitive processing, grief therapy, and trauma therapy as appropriate based on your needs. My focus I typically work with teens ages 15-17 and adults through individual therapy. Over the past few years, I have specialized in treating trauma, anxiety, and grief. I am also comfortable addressing women’s issues, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My communication style I strive to create a relaxed and comfortable environment so you feel at ease addressing any issues. While maintaining professional boundaries, I am approachable and encourage clients to communicate their needs openly with me.
