Lori DeBlaker, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NC
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, seeing clients throughout NC via virtual visits. So, hold up your hand if you have ever felt disappointed, even anxious, about how life is going. Becoming a mom, motherhood, even approaching an empty nest, can all cause stress and anxiety. Even life transitions such as a career change, loss of a job, diagnosis of a chronic illness, or chronic pain can cause you to be stressed, depressed, or anxious. Imagine a life filled with joy again, life like it used to be. Often, this may mean learning skills that can help you deal with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief/loss, chronic pain, or a new medical diagnosis. Don't let that molehill become a mountain. Let me help you kick it to the curb. My approach I work from many different theories and techniques, as I feel that each person is different, so one approach may work for you, as each individual is unique. Though I tend to gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I also may utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Within these theories, there is one common theme: that what we think influences our thoughts and actions. By changing our thinking patterns, we can improve our lives. My focus I specialize in treating female adults and adolescents (16-75) who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, chronic pain/chronic illness, life transitions, work-related stress, and maternal mental health issues. I strongly believe that by empowering women to become their very best, they can weather the storms of life and remain strong. Though my primary focus in women, I welcome men as well. I am a LGBTQ+ ally. I offer Christian counseling upon request. My communication style I offer an authentic approach to my clients while ensuring a safe, validating, and supportive environment. I value my clients' feeling heard, understood, and comfortable during our sessions.
