Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Lucy! Hello, my name is Lucy Gulatyan, and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. My approach to therapy combines problem-solving current issues while diving into deeper subconscious patterns of behavior. I practice a lot of inner child work with my individual adult patients to explore and understand underlying motivations. With couples, I'm a fan of the Gottman method, and with children and teens, I heavily involve parents through parenting and family sessions. My approach is strength-based because I believe all my patients have more strength than anything else. I absolutely love what I do and those I work with. Love is what guides me and weaves through my therapy hours effortlessly. I look forward to meeting you! My approach I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-based approaches, and attachment-based therapy. I also combine the Gottman method with couples and the Family Systems approach with families. I am trained in and utilize trauma-focused cognitive behavioral methods when trauma is involved. Mindfulness is encouraged. I usually check in with patients to ensure they're incorporating physical movement, exercise, yoga, and healthy eating and sleeping patterns alongside mental health services. My focus I typically work with higher functioning clients processing grief, history of trauma, or other life changes such as divorce, infertility, postpartum depression, and difficulty navigating dating and romantic relationships. I have experience with sexual abuse, parenting, crisis work including suicidal ideations, and trauma history. I have also worked with many first responders—folks who do crisis and high-risk work. My communication style My personality is warm, humorous, and motivational—this comes through in my sessions as I bring my genuine self into the room.
