Hi there, I'm Luke! Do you have noisy passengers? The kind that ride along in the background — the worries, fears, or thoughts like “I just can’t do this anymore.” If so, you don’t have to ride alone. I’m Luke Thomas, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I work with adults who are tired of feeling like they’re driving in circles with anxiety and depression and are ready to try a new route. My approach That “noisy passengers” metaphor is part of how I approach therapy. Sometimes getting a different angle on what’s going on inside, along with some tools, is what helps those passengers. My approach is to trust you as the driver. You don’t have to know where we’re going or how to get there. We’ll map it out together and gather what we need along the way. That might mean noticing unhelpful thought patterns, learning ways to manage anxiety, or getting clarity on what truly matters to you. To support that process, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. My focus Let’s move away from the metaphors for a moment. I don’t want to drive them into the ground. The clients who tend to benefit most from working with me are those who experience anxiety as their primary concern. Often, depression comes along too, and the work we do can support both. From what I’ve seen, people who feel a lot of hesitation about therapy often end up doing very well with me. I don’t do high-pressure interrogations, and I know most therapists don’t either. But even everyday questions can feel intrusive when you’re already overwhelmed. I’m sensitive to that. I won’t push you where you don’t want to go. If you’re looking for someone to “call you out,” I understand that, too, but that’s not the way I work. My approach is steady, collaborative, and built on mutual respect. My communication style If you’ve made it this far into my profile, you probably already have a sense of how I communicate.
