Lydia Jordan, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi! My name is Lydia Jordan, LMFT & Diplomate, A-CBT. I work with individuals hoping to improve how they feel, think, and act using compassion-focused and trauma-informed CBT, with emphasis on Eating, Mood, and Anxiety disorders. I am also sensitive to Women's Life-Span concerns (including pregnancy & perimenopause) and recovery from Religious Trauma. My approach I invite clients to start a therapeutic conversation using evidence-based and effective CBT interventions best suited to their concerns, including Compassion-Focused CBT, Somatic-Informed CBT, CBT-E for Eating Disorders, Cognitive Processing, Prolonged Exposure, Trauma-Informed and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy. My focus My practice centers on recovery from eating, mood, and anxiety disorders, emphasizing those who feel unheard or unmet elsewhere. I provide safety, accurate empathy, and unconditional positive regard so clients can progress confidently toward their goals. My communication style My approach is "lovingly direct." Clients can expect consistent collaboration, meeting them where they are, and authentically joining them to improve every aspect of life! Clients report feeling better and improving daily functioning—and if our relationship doesn't work, I’m honored to help connect them with a better fit. My journey to mental healthcare I've always been interested in helping people and the science of thinking. I earned a Bachelor's from the University of San Francisco and a Master's in Philosophy from Oxford University, initially planning to become a professor. However, after teaching middle school for a decade and seeing mental health issues in students and families, I pursued professional training. I completed a Master's in Counseling Psychology at California Lutheran University and the MS MFT program to become a licensed therapist.
