Lynelle Goodreau, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Lynelle Goodreau, a licensed marriage, family, and child therapist (LMFT) with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley. I am open to seeing individuals, couples, families, and adolescents through telehealth. My practice integrates the power of the mind-body-spirit connection to heal wounded areas within ourselves. I specifically help those who have experienced narcissistic abuse in early childhood as well as in current adult relationships. This trauma is real and needs to be processed with compassion and understanding within both body and mind. Narcissism undermines our growth, strength, health, and productive ways of living. My approach varies depending on what each client presents and what they need to work through for better coping and adaptation. Trained as a family systems therapist, I focus on attachment bonds formed during the first 18 years of life. We explore personality traits, coping skills, behavioral reactions versus responses, and distorted thoughts. Unhealthy internal dialogue, narratives, and defenses are also discussed and worked through to foster greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and personal agency. It is key to begin liking yourself enough and developing a stronger, more confident relationship with the many parts of the self. Currently, I am treating clients who need guidance with aging parents regarding home transitions, mental health issues including dementia, and focusing on self-care while caregiving. I help clients heal trauma wounds of all kinds and manage the collateral fallout of psychological injuries that can persist over time. All emotional and mental pain requires a delicate balance of therapy with compassionate inquiry into memories held in the body.
