Getting to know Lynn Young

Lynn Young is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master of Arts in Psychology from Brandman University in 2015. Lynn worked in the court system beginning in 2008 and became a mediator in 2016, working with an extremely diverse cultural and socioeconomic clientele until October 2022, when she began working solely in private practice. While working at the court, Lynn volunteered at local women’s shelters, counseling women and children residing in the shelters. Through her work at the court and in the shelters, Lynn has had the opportunity to support clients exposed to traumas such as domestic abuse, child abuse, divorce/separation, homelessness, substance abuse, anger management issues, and many DSM diagnoses. Lynn specializes in individual and couples counseling and is certified in Gottman Method Couples Counseling Level 1, Solution Focused Therapy Level 1, and CBT Master Core Skills and Competencies. She continues to actively pursue trainings to best support her clients’ needs and interests. Lynn is passionate about inviting clients to recognize their strengths, resiliency, and exceptions to presenting issues. She walks compassionately with her clients to restore hope in their preferred future.
