Hello. My name is Lynne Goldsmith. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Nevada, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I have worked with youth, adults, couples, groups, and families in county, nonprofit, Native, private, and juvenile detention settings, where I also once developed and ran a drug and alcohol program. I earned my master's degree in Community Counseling from the University of Nevada, Reno, and my bachelor's degree from Boston University. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, as the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said. Having small, specific goals can be that start toward finding more fulfillment and joy in your life. I hope to be of help. Please note: I do not handle FMLA, custody evaluations, or expert witness evaluations. I also do not meet with couples involved in domestic violence. My approach My approach is collaborative and aimed at empowering you and helping you find more peace and emotional comfort in your life in a way that you choose. My focus I'm seeing adults and couples at this time but do love working with children and teens and may revisit that again. I see people with all kinds of stressors, such as relationship conflict, occupational issues, grief, depression, and anxiety. My communication style During therapy, I want to do what is helpful for you and try to create a safe space. My journey to mental healthcare Wanting to help people. My goals for you A solution-focused approach can help clients formulate their own goals and work toward them step by step. My first session with you We will go over such things as what clients want to get from counseling, how counseling is structured, my licenses, client area(s) of concern, confidentiality, hopes, emergency contact information, and current location.
