Getting to know Mallory Montague

My name is Mallory Montague (LMFT 113759), and I received my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2014. I integrate multiple modalities to focus on a variety of areas including anxiety, adjustment and life transitions, parenting, coping skills, self-esteem, and more. I enjoy building an empathic connection with clients to provide a safe and comfortable place to explore goals, build strengths, and cultivate genuine growth. My approach I use a mixture of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Attachment-Based models, and psychoeducation. I like taking research-supported interventions and tailoring them to fit the unique needs of my clients. My focus Since transitioning to Telehealth in the last three years, I have primarily focused on anxiety and related conditions. I have a passion for working with people navigating life transitions and seeking support for personal growth. Some of my specialties include coping skills, parenting issues, self-esteem, adjustment, and anxiety. I have experience working in Telehealth, community-based, and school settings. My communication style Building a supportive and comfortable environment is vital to success in therapy, so I strive to create an empathic and nurturing relationship. It's important that clients feel supported throughout therapy, even when I challenge them and lean into discomfort. I communicate directly, with encouragement and care. My journey to therapy My journey to becoming a therapist was not linear, but one thing remained consistent: I love the humbling experience of witnessing life's triumphs and challenges through my clients' eyes. I am constantly motivated by the vulnerable courage individuals show when they seek therapy, and I take great care with the responsibility of being a small part of their journey.
