Hi there, I'm Margaret! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) in North Carolina and have been practicing since 2013. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Liberty University. I primarily utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when working with clients. I enjoy helping individuals make values-based decisions in the face of discomfort and adversity. My approach I believe increasing mindfulness and awareness helps individuals make values-based decisions that move them toward growth rather than away from their problems. I do not believe feeling "happy" all the time is achievable or sustainable. My focus I have experience working with a variety of individuals and enjoy supporting children, adolescents, and adults. My communication style I tend to be quite direct while also facilitating a client's ability to gain insight into their current situation. My journey to mental healthcare I started my college career wanting to be an elementary school teacher but quickly realized I wanted to do more to support students and our military community. My goals for you I approach goal setting by allowing the client's identified values to guide the establishment of meaningful goals.
