Getting to know Mariah Hofmeister

Hi there, I'm Mariah! I love working with and supporting pregnant and parenting mothers as well as children of all ages. Parenting is tough! Having someone to work through the hard stuff with can be very helpful. I am passionate about working with both parents and children. My approach I get to know each client and we figure out together the best treatment modality. I focus on attachment, processing, as well as mind-body/somatic therapy. I draw from a variety of modalities to best treat each individual. My focus Do you have a baby, a toddler, a special needs child, a foster or adopted child, or other children at home and feel overwhelmed and/or anxious? Is being a parent a lot harder than you expected? I think it is the hardest job out there. I am passionate about working with prenatal and postpartum parents and those with young children (biological, foster, and adoptive). I work with trauma, anxiety, depression, and a variety of parenting challenges. I have training and experience in maternal mental health, somatic therapy, attachment, trauma, mind-body connections, nature therapy, play therapy, cognitive/behavior therapies, and parent education. I am a parent and foster parent and have over 20 years of experience working with families. I have worked with a variety of populations, but I specialize in working with perinatal mothers and families with young children, as well as children and teens. I work with trauma, anxiety, depression, tough behaviors, and the overall stresses of life and/or parenting. My communication style I invite open and honest conversations into our sessions. I follow each client to try to understand what they are looking for in therapy. I am friendly and love connecting with others. My journey to mental healthcare I knew from a young age that I wanted to help others, and have always been drawn to helping children. It was when I became a single mother of a baby that I knew I wanted to also help parents along their parenting journey.
