Getting to know Marie Olivett

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver. My background includes trauma, attachment, and animal-assisted interventions. I have worked with youth and their families in therapeutic settings, providing individual, family, and group counseling. My approach I enjoy exploring how to maximize the natural world and the existing supports in your life. I am a trained facilitator for Circle of Security, a parenting program, and I enjoy supporting parents from birth onwards. I am also well-versed in assisting people exploring issues around faith and religion, pet selection, and career exploration. I provide EMDR both virtually and in person, as well as equine-assisted therapy on Wednesdays in person. My focus I primarily work with people addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, or substance use. My communication style I am person-centered, but I understand many people hesitate to come to therapy for fear of encountering just “fluff.” While we will explore your feelings and experiences, I'm here to support your real life and the relationships that matter most to you-which, in the long term, will not be your therapist!
