Hi there, I'm Marisa! My name is Marisa Farnsworth, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fresno. I have experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I use a strength-based approach with the objective of working collaboratively with clients to achieve their therapy goals. My approach I enjoy working with my clients by building on existing strengths while discovering and learning new skills. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Gestalt therapy to provide an integrated approach to therapy. My focus I specialize in personality disorders, depression, anxiety, family conflict, anger management, and a variety of life transitions. I have worked with ethnically and culturally diverse populations of adults, teens, couples, and families to assist them in successfully dealing with various life transitions and mental health challenges. My goals for you Goal setting is important for staying on task and is always collaborative. My first session with you Our first session will be different from future sessions. It is a time for us to get to know each other and decide how to proceed. You can expect to be asked about your symptoms, what brought you to therapy, what you feel is wrong in your life, and a brief history including childhood, education, relationships (family, romantic, friends), your current living situation, and your career.
