Welcome! Life is a journey. At times, we all need help to sort through the ups and downs. We want to find peace, balance, understanding, and feel connected to others. If you're struggling with life issues, I hope to help you navigate the challenges along the way. My approach My approach to therapy begins with understanding your decision to seek help may have involved varied factors. I provide a caring and non-judgmental relationship so that we can begin working together towards achieving your goals. Using a variety of modalities allows me to provide a more individualized approach, the more I learn about you and your specific strengths and needs. I will always incorporate some degree of cognitive behavioral therapy into my approach, as I believe it is our thoughts that can be our greatest resource for change. My focus I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients and concerns ranging from depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, sexual compulsivity, eating disorders, adjustment, phase of life changes, grief, self-esteem, and a multitude of other complex mental health concerns. Over the years, I have worked in private practices, federal correctional institutions, state-run mental health facilities (inpatient and outpatient), and on local Indian reservations. While I have worked with couples, families, and children, I find my approach tends to be best suited for adults of any age or gender. My communication style My communication style is relaxed, supportive, and even-tempered. I believe effective communication is paramount to client success. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist because I enjoy forming meaningful connections, helping others, and I was naturally drawn to a profession that requires me to continue learning and growing. I have always been fascinated by the vast differences as well as commonalities we all share, regardless of our own unique life journeys and experiences. Being a therapist is a profound honor and privilege!
