Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Meghan! Hello, my name is Meghan Giles. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I hold a Master's in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Global. I am passionate about working collaboratively with individuals to empower them to create lasting change. I have worked with adults, teens, and children experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and communication difficulties. My approach We will work collaboratively to meet your goals. I use a client-centered approach, as each individual moves through therapy at a different pace. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Humanistic, and Trauma-Informed practices. With children, I typically use art and play interventions. My focus For the past six years, I have treated children ages 5-12 in school settings and virtually during COVID. I have also treated adolescents struggling with stress, anxiety, and depression, and supported teachers dealing with stress from the profession and life. I have a passion for working with those experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, and postpartum. My communication style I create a relaxed environment that's nonjudgmental and empathetic. My journey to therapy Before this career, I was a teacher. During that time, I saw many children struggle socially and emotionally and need more support. I also struggled with anxiety as a teacher. I love connecting with children and adults and being someone they can turn to for support. My goals for you We will work collaboratively to set small goals that help you get closer to your long-term goals. My first session with you During the first session, I like to hear your story: what brings you to therapy, your past experiences, what you want to get out of therapy, and more.
