CO
Hi there, I'm Melanie! My name is Melanie Hanson, LPC. I'm an accepting therapist with a unique perspective on life and enjoy helping clients find humor and hope in their journey. My approach I'm a person-centered therapist who believes the client knows themselves best. I'm here to model a positive and healthy relationship, provide space, and identify helpful coping skills as needed. Approaches I use include DBT, IFS, and Motivational Interviewing. My focus I commonly work with adolescents, adults, and couples. I am a neurodivergent-affirming provider, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and trauma-informed. Issues I've commonly worked with include self-esteem, childhood neglect, addiction, and ADHD. My communication style My environment is light-hearted, respectful, validating, and caring. I aim to hold space for clients where they are accepted exactly as they are. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to therapy after my own positive therapeutic experiences. Holding space for someone and unconditionally supporting them in loving themselves is highly rewarding! My goals for you With clients, I like to make small, achievable goals that relate to their overall life goals. Our small goals are stepping stones to the larger picture! My first session with you Clients should expect an intake session to go over relevant personal history and develop a "road map" of how you got to where you are. I earned my MEd in Counseling and Development from Lindsey Wilson College, which has equipped me with the skills to support you effectively.
