Meredith Brooks, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Meredith! When life feels heavy or patterns keep repeating, it can be hard to know where to begin. I work with children, teens, and adults to better understand their experiences, build practical coping skills, and move through what feels stuck. My focus Struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, or feeling stuck in the same patterns? I work with children, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients are looking to better understand themselves, feel more in control of their emotions, and build skills that actually work. My approach My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, IFS, EMDR, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I tailor each session to what you need in the moment, whether that means learning concrete tools to manage anxiety, exploring deeper emotional patterns, or focusing on small, meaningful steps forward. My communication style My style is warm, collaborative, and direct when it is helpful. I will ask thoughtful questions, offer gentle observations, and share tools you can use between sessions. My journey to mental healthcare My path to becoming a provider has not been a straight line. I graduated in 2004 while working in Human Resources and never planned to practice. When COVID hit, I began volunteering at a local school in 2022, and it shifted everything. In 2024, I added a telehealth private practice, and now I am fully in this work. My goals for you I take a collaborative approach to goal-setting so you feel ownership over the work we’re doing. Early on, we’ll explore what’s bringing you in, what feels most important to change, and what “feeling better” would actually look like in your daily life. From there, we create a few clear, realistic goals that feel meaningful and doable.
