Michelle MacElvaine, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist providing services to clients within the State of California. With over 19 years of experience, I have worked with adults, children, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings. My approach to therapy is to create a safe and nurturing environment, using a combination of client-centered, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral modalities. My approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to each client’s needs. While I most commonly use client-centered, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, I adapt my methods to best support the individual. I have worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief or loss, sexual assault, domestic violence, and separation issues. My goal is to foster a compassionate and understanding environment where clients feel heard and supported. My journey to therapy began as a young teenager, inspired by a desire to help my peers and at-risk youth in my community. This early passion continues to guide my commitment to providing empathetic and effective care.
