Michelle Rodriguez, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Michelle Rodriguez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Fresno, California. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Child Counseling from California State University, Fresno. I use a collaborative approach where I assist clients in creating goals for themselves and work together to achieve them. I tend to be client-centered and strength-based in my approach. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. My focus I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children with depression, anxiety, and trauma. My communication style My clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment. I do what I can to ensure clients feel they can express themselves in a judgment-free space and feel heard. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to do something meaningful to help others. I worked in the school district with children who were struggling due to mental health challenges. Working with these children introduced me to the mental health field, and I found my passion for it. My goals for you I work collaboratively with my clients to set goals that are important to them. We will work together to track progress on these goals. My first session with you During our first session, clients can expect us to spend time discussing what brought them to therapy, how they have been feeling, and answering questions to help me understand why they may be feeling that way. Much of the first session is about building a connection, getting comfortable with each other, and laying the foundation for future sessions.
