Dr. Monica Reynoso, LCP, PsyD

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Monica Reynoso. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a PsyD from Alliant International University and over 15 years of experience. I have a strong passion for working with parents and adults managing life’s challenges. My commitment is to explore any trauma, hurt, or pain and address oppression, cultural conditioning, or barriers so you can be your authentic self. My approach My work is grounded in attachment theories and is family-focused, culturally responsive, and relationship-based. I use a trauma-informed and anti-racist lens, with commitment to cultural humility, accountability, and attunement to social justice and systemic oppression. My focus I specialize in parenting issues, self-esteem, divorce, and PTSD. I am trained in evidence-based practices addressing complex trauma. My experience includes working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, and individuals facing anxiety, depression, and relational challenges. I guide parents to understand the parent-child relationship and their child’s behavior. My communication style I use a reflective and collaborative approach, creating a trusting space for you to explore and cope with difficult emotions. I want every individual to feel ownership in our work; we are a team. It takes courage to reach out, showing vulnerability and openness to new ways of thinking. Parents have the responsibility to create spaces for their children promoting curiosity and belonging, and I want to provide parents their own space in our work. My journey to mental healthcare I always wanted to work with people—perhaps as a teacher or pediatrician. But in my third year of undergrad, a professor asked if I had considered becoming a child psychologist, which set me on this path.
