Natalie Stockton, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi! My name is Natalie Stockton. I am a licensed clinical social worker with an additional certification of Social Worker in Healthcare and WPATH training. I strive to empower my clients to make positive changes by meeting them where they are at, providing empathy, compassion, and positive support. My approach is to be strengths-based and client-centered. Areas of experience include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, end-of-life issues, LGTBQ, gender-affirming care, relationship challenges, boundaries, and self-worth. My approach I work with the client to determine the approach that is best for them. This may include talk therapy/coaching, CBT, DBT, strengths-based, acceptance and commitment therapy, or motivational interviewing. Other therapeutic approaches available as need is determined. My focus I have worked with people of all ages. I enjoy working with teens (14+), my current caseload is a mix of all ages with people falling into 3 primary categories. Early 20s establishing themselves, mid-0s to early 40s going through career/relationship challenges, and those over 60 who are reevaluating priorities and working towards creating changes. I am comfortable treating most issues. I feel that the connection between therapist and client is the most important in addressing any problem. My communication style I am a therapist who is working for YOU. I have a calm, laid-back approach. I do not come off as overly serious and will engage in humor to build rapport. I will ask often if the current approach is working and if client would like to change or address anything different. I encourage my clients to make suggestions, ask for changes and to advocate for their needs. My journey to therapy I began this journey to work within the healthcare field - primarily with cancer patients. I graduated in 2004 with my Master's and worked in a variety of settings. These included foster care, VA, hospitals, jr./ high schools, hospice, group homes.
