Getting to know Natalie Zendejas

Are you feeling like you are high functioning yet only getting the bare minimum done in the day? Feeling stuck, like there is more to life than your daily routine? Feeling disconnected and detached from everyone around you? Are you having trouble sleeping because your anxiety knows you’re trying to go to sleep, and those racing thoughts know just when to emerge? My passion and direct experience lie in working with those diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression, psychosis, trauma, substance use, anxiety, and grief. I provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental space to explore your needs further, work toward the goals you would like to achieve, and improve your level of functioning. I encourage you to be an active participant in your treatment. I utilize various treatment approaches to aid your growth, gain insight, and develop. One of those modalities is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you identify destructive thought patterns that can negatively impact your emotions and behaviors. I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to assist my clients in regulating their emotions, improving interpersonal relationships and mindfulness, and increasing their distress tolerance. I incorporate Motivational Interviewing to meet you where you are at, while also helping you reach the goals you set in place. This is your treatment. Lastly, I use Solution-Focused Therapy, where we focus on your strengths, goals, and future. What is going well in your life? You might have all the tools and resources at hand all along. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from National University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively on your journey.
