Getting to know Nellie Finn

Feeling stressed? Anxious? Depressed? Are you struggling to regulate your moods on your own? Hello, I'm Nellie Finn. I hold a Master's degree in Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and have extensive training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I view my role as your mental health coach, here to share tools, feedback, and support that will help you build resilience, deal with challenges, and manage your reactions to daily stressors. Yes, stress is part of everyday life, but learning healthy coping strategies will help you feel empowered and ready to take on whatever life throws at you. Utilizing a Solution-Focused approach, together we will have a goal-oriented focus to problem-solving. This approach will move you away from feeling helpless to feeling hopeful and inspired. Solution-Focused goals are set up incrementally so you build on your success. Regardless of how small the success, it is worth celebrating each step of the way at every session. I have 27 years of successful counseling experience supporting a diverse population of individuals from ages 14 through 84. I enjoy working with individuals of all backgrounds from every continent. I am conversant in Spanish and Portuguese and understand the cultural challenges of being a first-generation US citizen (both of my parents are immigrants to the US). I understand the challenges many of us face in trying to balance personal needs, family, fertility challenges, career (including setbacks and toxic work cultures), parenting, single life, and modern dating. With unwavering optimistic, positive support, I am here to help you feel listened to, supported, and appreciated. For me, it is an honor to support you on your journey to feel better.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At the end of each session clients often report feeling one or more of the following: relieved, validated, unburdened, listened to, safe, no-judgment zone, accepted, catharsis, relaxed, uplifted, free, hopeful and supported.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
