Psychotherapist
NC
I am here to help you heal. Therapy with me looks like a trauma-informed, solution-focused, collaborative process. This means that I believe in working together to help you heal in a way that considers your life experiences, aspirations, and goals to achieve your mental wellness. I am a huge advocate of adult creative expression, play, mindfulness, and centering joy in your healing process My approach I take a holistic perspective to your healing journey: facilitating deep contemplation, emotional regulation, and solution-focused goal creation. Together, we will strategize to help you achieve wellness. I use trauma-informed, expressive, and creative tools paired with a solution-focused orientation. This looks like considering trauma and realistic barriers when forming solutions, avoiding false positivity, and balancing heavy therapeutic work with creative assignments that utilize music, sound, journaling, somatic exercises, and mindfulness. My focus I have a breadth of experience working with Black women, individuals living with disabilities, chronic illnesses, the queer community, those who experience racial trauma, and those who are sex positive and are seeking counseling services. The main issues I specialize in are stress, trauma, depression, grief, anxiety, chronic illness, and disability. A typical treatment plan starts with identifying the roots of your concerns, identifying healthy ways to process the emotions that come with discovery, utilizing creative & expressive assignments outside of our sessions, and finally, building a realistic solution tailored to your needs. My communication style I believe in authentic and meaningful communication. I strive to provide clear, direct, and compassionate communication, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving. I encourage you to speak freely, using words that are comfortable to you, allowing you to express your emotions, concerns, and problems in their rawest form.
