“Nicholas has helped me grow as a person. He challenges me, he asks the right questions. He doesn't sit there and tell me how to feel or how I should see things, he makes me work and find my own path, and see things from a different prospective.”

Getting to know Nicholas Crisp

Nicholas Crisp is an experienced social worker who has worked in a variety of roles and capacities. In his seven years of practice, he has worked with many populations, with his primary focus and passion being dually and co-occurring disorders, while maintaining a caseload specialization in adolescent, youth, and family systems. My approach Other areas of specialization include cognitive behavioral therapy, gender- and culturally informed care, and solution-focused and family systems applications. My focus Key areas of focus include depression and anxiety-related disorders, specifically regarding self-harm and crisis, family systems, anger management, behavioral issues, and substance-related and mental health disorders. My communication style Working closely with various populations has enabled Nick to acquire an in-depth understanding of their needs and learn how to cooperate with them to deliver positive results. Interacting with diverse patients has allowed him to offer the professional help he has always longed to provide. He understands that social work goes beyond a job; it requires passion to help and make the world a better place for marginalized populations and others. Essentially, he believes in working with and for communities using his professionally acquired skills and abilities. My journey to mental healthcare Nicholas began his career as a medical support assistant for the Indian Health Service at the Haskell Health Center in Lawrence, Kansas, where he quickly developed a passion for counseling and working with people. This desire to help led him to pursue a Master of Social Work at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, where he concentrated on the mental health of American Indian and Alaskan Native populations.
