Getting to know Nicholas Davis

My name is Nick Davis. I'm a 34-year-old Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in San Diego, California, working with clients throughout California via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University. I work with both adolescents and adults and specialize in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, impulsivity, relationship concerns, and suicidal ideation. My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning it is based on the needs of the client. I believe in a collaborative approach to help the client identify their primary needs and tailor therapeutic interventions to meet those needs. I specialize in several modalities; however, I most commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first session will focus on figuring out what concerns bring you to therapy, and how I can best assist you with addressing them. I will ask open ended questions to assist you with teaching me about your own experiences related to your mental health. I understand that opening up can be difficult, so I also focus on building trust and figuring out ways to make your therapeutic experience with me as safe and productive as possible. Following the initial session, what is discussed going forward is based on the clients preference and needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
