Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Nickolas! Hello, my name is Nick Persons, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California seeking new clients. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University, Fresno Campus. My approach is person-centered; I believe there is no one-size-fits-all technique, so I meet clients where they are and start where they feel comfortable to help them navigate obstacles in their lives. My approach All therapy approaches I use come from a person-centered philosophy; the therapeutic relationship is where healing begins, so I pride myself on offering a safe, comfortable environment for all clients. I have formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I use tools from multiple approaches to identify strategies that work best for each person. My focus I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, including those with co-occurring disorders and substance use, LGBTQ+ populations, individuals with mild to severe mental illness, and people seeking new ways to think about their problems and explore solutions. I am comfortable treating depressive and anxious disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, co-occurring and substance use disorders, and stress-related disorders. My communication style I want clients to feel comfortable meeting with me, and I use a curious, calm, and conversational style in therapy. I am easy to get along with, speak in a low, calm voice, and frequently ask for client feedback on what’s working and what isn’t.
