Pansy Adams, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
NC
Hi there, I'm Pansy! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Supervisor (LCMHCS), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) based in Pfafftown, NC. I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I believe life presents both challenging and inspiring opportunities, and challenging times can foster understanding, peace of mind, and personal growth. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Clark Atlanta University, which laid the foundation for my work in mental health and addiction. My approach My theoretical approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). CBT focuses on how thoughts and feelings impact behavior, developing interventions to address problematic patterns. MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented counseling style that strengthens motivation and commitment to change through exploring personal reasons within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion. My focus I typically work with adults and some teenagers. My expertise includes Individual Therapy addressing symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Grief and Loss, Stress/Conflict, Self-Esteem, Career/Work, Relationships, Life Changes, and Substance Use/Addiction concerns. My communication style My approach is one of warm positive regard. I am attentive, present, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel comfortable and heard, even when sharing difficult thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and situations. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to therapy due to the negative impact mental health and substance use have had on loved ones, friends, families, and communities. I specialized in this field to be more knowledgeable and effective in empowering others.
