Penny Marsh, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I’m Penny, Thanks for taking the time to consider letting me work with you. I know it is hard to open up and allow someone into your life and thoughts. Let me tell you a little about myself and my reason for being a therapist before you make a decision. Growing up, I was always the friend who everyone turned to for advice, help making a big decision, or the rational mind—but also for the tough response. So, I guess this is something I’ve always enjoyed: helping others. You want to know if I know what I’m doing and have some backing, right? I graduated from University of Phoenix, Sacramento Campus, with my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2015; however, I started gaining experience doing therapy in 2014. I have since worked in a non-profit private practice model individual therapy center, a dual diagnosis inpatient drug rehab, and a non-profit community-based therapy center working with children and families. I also have experience working in a psychiatric hospital outpatient setting where I have opened and run groups at a PHP outpatient program in a new mental health hospital.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have modeled my current therapy after the kind eared, confidant, problem solving friend I was years ago. I tend to be a soft spot to land, but also am that direct uncomfortable statement that needs to be heard. I like to say I have a selfless, yet selfish profession in doing therapy because I get to help you along your journey, and it brings me joy to watch you learn and grow into the healthier version of yourselves.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
