Welcome. Everyone needs connection and to feel understood. Therapy is a place where you can fall apart; you don't have to pretend or fake it. Tele-health is great because you can be in the comfort of your own home. My approach I use a combination of cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy, gradual exposure, and mindfulness approaches. I also incorporate writing exercises, behavioral activation, communication, and coping strategies and tools such as breathing techniques. My focus I'm a good fit if you are feeling anxious, avoiding places you've had panic attacks, experiencing work burnout or occupational stress, grieving, dealing with family drama, caring for special needs kids, in a relationship rut, a perfectionist, tired of masking or faking it, not feeling yourself lately, or are a sleep-deprived new mom. My communication style I strive to have open communication and support you in a nonjudgmental way. I will support you with your goals and gently confront any discrepancy in those goals. My journey to mental healthcare I am so lucky to work in this field! I became a licensed clinical social worker 10 years ago. I chose cognitive behavioral therapy because it is an evidence-based therapy that can help identify thinking distortions. I am privileged to work in this field and be present during the most difficult times of people's lives. My goals for you Sometimes people come to therapy to deal with people who won't come to therapy. Whatever brings people in, we collaboratively develop goals, small, measurable, achievable goals that they can accomplish and have control over. I use measured outcomes to help track progress with treatment. My first session with you It's common to be nervous; therapy can feel awkward at times. Meeting with a stranger is not easy! I'll be asking more about your situation, symptoms, and standard mental health questions. Most important is for YOU to feel comfortable, listened to, and safe.
