Psychotherapist
CO
Welcome to Empoder Therapy! I use an intersectional, empowerment, and trauma-informed approach in my work with a strong emphasis on psychoeducation. I believe in a balance of processing as well as learning new skills to improve your mental health for the short and long term. My approach I hope to provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment (with an appropriate use of humor) for our work together. The therapy relationship is the most important factor in client success, so I prioritize our connection and trust. My focus I have spent most of my career as a generalist, but I am formally trained in working with adults struggling with trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, bipolar disorder, self-esteem, body positivity, grief/loss, and caregiver support. I also enjoy working with the LGBT+ community, those navigating race, mixed identity, systems, sex, and sexuality. My communication style Therapy is most successful when the therapeutic relationship is grounded in trust, connection, and respect. I like to spend time getting to know one another and ensuring I have a good idea of your goals and who you are. My journey to mental healthcare I have been a therapist for 12 years and truly love what I do. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked with survivors of domestic violence, seeking safety. While in graduate school, I worked in refugee resettlement, supporting individuals as they navigate a new life. During this time, I found a passion for rapport building, connection, and service. My goals for you Open communication and regular reflection on goals as a collaborative team are essential in helping clients reach their goals. I enjoy teaching new skills and perspectives in hopes that clients will have tangible tools to use in day-to-day life.
