Rachel DaCosta, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I'm Rachel! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, East Bay, and a Bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University. I am passionate about therapy and the healing that comes through active participation in the therapeutic process. Using a supportive, collaborative, and strength-based approach, I have been providing mental health support to a diverse population of clients for the past 15 years. My approach is eclectic, client-centered, and holistic, rooted strongly in Attachment Theory, Family Systems, Positive Psychology, and Humanism. I also utilize Mindfulness, Behavior Modification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing treatment modalities and strategies. I work collaboratively to support individuals struggling with relational issues-both past and present-as well as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, situational stressors, and other challenges. My communication style is warm, accepting, and non-judgmental. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for clients. I've always had an interest in becoming a therapist. Pursuing Psychology as an undergraduate furthered my resolve to serve in the mental health field and ultimately become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I truly believe in the healing that can occur through participation in therapy. Through collaboration and exploration, we can clarify your needs, wants, and preferences. I want to tailor therapy to fit your unique goals. I offer kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapy to assist you in your time of need. Our first session will give us the opportunity to get to know each other as we begin exploring how therapy might be most helpful to you.
