Getting to know Rachel Gren

Hello! My name is Rachel Gren, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My approach to therapy is person-centered. I focus on fully understanding your experience, interactions, and interpretations to help us uncover opportunities for healing and resolution. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and use an eclectic approach to treat symptoms stemming from trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and other sources of emotional distress. I primarily work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. I also enjoy supporting couples who are facing marital conflict and stressors. My goal is to create a safe, warm environment where clients feel free to share their experiences. I practice unconditional positive regard in my sessions because I want my clients to feel supported from the very beginning and throughout their healing journey. My journey to becoming a therapist began when my parents enrolled me in therapy during a low point in our relationship. I remember feeling shy at first but then comforted knowing someone genuinely cared about how I was feeling. Through difficult times, therapy continued to provide that supportive space. From that point on, I felt called to this work and have fully embraced the experience. I approach goal setting with clients during the first session because I want to understand upfront how you envision resolving the issues that bring you to therapy. Our first session will be an information-gathering session where I listen to your story and explore how the issue is impacting your well-being.
