Hi there, I'm Rachel! Hi everyone! My name is Rachel Taylor, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from California State University Long Beach. I have been working as a therapist for over 7 years and am ready to work with you to accomplish your therapeutic goals. My approach I combine a variety of approaches tailored to fit your needs. I typically use CBT, DBT, and ACT to teach ways to address unpleasant thoughts and emotions. For those with stuck beliefs or challenging life circumstances, I provide EMDR therapy. My focus I work with young adults, adults, and older adults struggling with regulating emotions. I treat disorders including adjustment disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and major depressive disorder. I also work with people experiencing grief or other difficult life circumstances. My communication style I have an easygoing manner and will meet you where you are. I value building strong rapport since trust is key in therapy. I will push and challenge you as needed but can adjust the pace to fit your comfort level. My journey to mental healthcare The more I’ve learned about trauma’s impact, the more motivated I am to help people work through, process, and heal their trauma. My goals for you Setting relevant, reasonable, and achievable goals is important. I believe goal setting should be collaborative so we can target what you want to change, adjust, or enhance. My first session with you In the first session, I like to get to know you so we can start where you’re comfortable. I gather background information to develop a collaborative treatment approach.
