My name is Rana Choi Yamamura, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Fresno State. I specialize in stress, anxiety, life transitions, chronic illness, caregiver stress, grief/loss, and women’s issues, including perinatal and postpartum concerns. My approach I use a person-centered approach emphasizing empathy and active listening. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based, solution-focused, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapies. My focus We all experience times when we feel stressed, overwhelmed, or “stuck” with life’s expected twists and turns. I work with people aged 18 and older facing these stressors every day. My areas of focus include life transitions, stress, anxiety, burnout, chronic or serious life-threatening illness (for both patients and their loved ones), caregiver stress, grief/loss, and women’s issues including perinatal and postpartum challenges. My communication style Our time together will be casual and easy-going, grounded in mutual respect. It is my hope that you feel valued and heard. I have been told I am straightforward yet warm, caring, and empathetic. Building a strong and trusting working relationship is important to me as we move forward toward your goals. My journey to mental healthcare We have all experienced life’s “ups and downs.” It takes strength and courage to reach out for help.
