Getting to know Raylon Wilson

"Change is inevitable. Growth is optional." – John C. Maxwell Change can be difficult. However, as mentioned above, it is inevitable. Relationships, career moves, physical and cognitive abilities are just a few examples of changes we must adapt to in this voyage called life. At Reaching Expectations Counseling Services LLC, we focus on skill-building to effectively navigate these changes. Raylon holds a Bachelor's degree from Lyon College, a Master's in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arkansas, and a Master's in Social Work from Boise State University. He fundamentally provides a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment during the therapy process. He believes these are essential ingredients in assisting clients on their journey of making meaningful change and healing. Increasing quality of life and living with vitality are prominent goals during treatment, and Raylon is dedicated to supporting clients in achieving these outcomes.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Raylon strives to empower clients from an evidenced-based integrative approach that includes concepts of Cognitive Theory (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Client Centered Therapy, and Strengths Perspectives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session will begin with a check-in, where the client is free to update clinician on events between sessions (including any prior goals/objectives that were completed). Clients often begin to dive into their challenges soon after, where the skills building portion begins. Lastly, the session typically wraps with a quick recap and identifying goals/objects to be accomplished prior to the next session.

    Great! Always learning something new!
Raylon is very insightful and helpful in helping me gain understanding about my...shall we say...unique circumstances in life. I know he is very busy and more than likely has a client before me, but sometimes he is five minutes late to my call. Overall, he is amazing !
Raylon is a good listener who provides us with useful feedback and encouragement. This is our first attempt at couples therapy. He has made a really positive difference in our lives. We are happier, more content, and kinder to one another after working with him.
I appreciate the time that was taken to listen to my spouse and I. We genuinely feel a lot more positive that we can resolve our issues. Looking forward to coming back again.
