Psychotherapist
CA
Hello! My name is Robin Inouye, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with California License #15119. The primary focus of my practice is treating mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, including trauma resulting in PTSD, and helping those coping with stressful life transitions, including military lifestyle issues. Although I currently treat only adults, I have extensive training and expertise in working with children of all ages. Therefore, I can be a valuable resource for assistance with general parenting and specific strategies to help address behavioral and mental health challenges you may be facing with your children. My approach The most common approaches I utilize in therapy include Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness practices, Psychodynamic therapy, parenting practices, Family Systems, and addressing military lifestyle issues. My focus I work primarily with adults experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and those navigating stressful life transitions. With 12 years of experience treating service members and their families, I am familiar with the challenges of military life such as deployment and multiple transitions. I am also skilled in supporting clients in caregiver roles and parents struggling with general parenting concerns or their children's emotional and behavioral difficulties. My communication style I believe our work together must combine building a genuine, empathic, and trusting relationship with the skillful application of clinical interventions tailored to your specific issues and stressors. Active listening-including empathizing, normalizing, and validating clients-is essential to creating a successful therapeutic relationship.
