Getting to know Robinta Calixte
Hi there, I'm Robinta!
My name is Robinta Calixte, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. My focus areas include depression, anxiety, coping skills, self-esteem, stress management, anger management, grief, interpersonal and relationship issues, and trauma-related concerns.
My approach
I use an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring techniques to each client’s needs. These include cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, trauma-informed, client-centered, and solution-focused approaches.
My focus
I work with children, adolescents, and adults with various needs and disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety, grief/bereavement, trauma, stress and anger management, adjustment, self-esteem, coping skills, and interpersonal/relationship issues.
My communication style
With me, you can expect an unconditional, confidential, positive, and safe environment. You will receive support, encouragement, and an ally in your therapeutic journey.
My journey to therapy
I was drawn to counseling after my undergraduate internship working with abused children. That experience made me wonder how they move forward. I wanted to be part of the healing process, so I pursued mental health counseling. I have worked with children and adults in inpatient psychiatry, outpatient community health, juvenile detention, and telehealth. What drives me is knowing the difference a supportive ally providing encouragement, tools, and resources can make in protecting and nourishing mental health.
