Ryan Durgin, LPC

Ryan Durgin, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
I take a collaborative, holistic, and social justice-oriented approach to working with adults of all ages. I specialize in supporting those navigating grief and loss, healing from trauma, and exploring identity (particularly trans, queer, and LGBTQ+ folks - as well as adults exploring neurodivergence). Using a collaborative person-centered approach, I will work with you to create a safe and empowering environment where you can heal and grow. I bring a lot of curiosity to sessions to understand your holistic experience, while giving you the space and gentle guidance to connect with deeper insights. While I work with a wide variety of clients, my areas of specialty include supporting LGBTQ+ folks (particularly trans individuals), adult-diagnosed neurodivergence, and those processing grief/loss and trauma.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to provide clear and transparent communication around expectations and the therapeutic process. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach - different things work for different people in different moments. I value collaboration and find that therapy is most effective when we work together to combine my intuition and training with your expertise in your own experience. This combination enables us to collaborate and find the balance that feels right for you. I've always been curious about people - how we relate to ourselves and others, our values, our decision making processes, the patterns we fall into, etc. Through my own experiences exploring queer identity, navigating grief and loss, and healing from trauma, I've found incredible healing through therapy, which ultimately led me to want to provide that space to explore and heal for others.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will work together to identity the goals that are important to you, and then talk through how we want to approach working towards your goals together. I also know life continues to happen as we work together! We can shift and adapt our plan at any time, while being intentional about when we focus on things coming up in the present vs. digging in deeper/uncover how your past experiences may continue to impact you. Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your background and what brings you to therapy, as well as leaving space to talk through any questions you may have about me as a provider or the therapeutic process. We will collaborate to find a path through this work that feels right for you!
