Hi there, I'm Sandra! It might be time for you to reflect and get clarity for yourself. I believe that clients are in charge of their own lives and that it is my job to help create a non-judgemental space that clients can explore their past experiences, present circumstances, and future desires. I want you to feel heard and valued. My focus I believe that our lives are a very layered and complex mix of events, behaviors, thoughts, dreams, goals, relationships, and values to name a few. I am interested in what has and is happenning in your life; In what you approach and what you avoid; In what stirs your different emotions; In what thoughts and emotions lead your life in the moment. My approach I have worked with people who have past abuse they want to heal, and people who just want to figure out the best way to get through a day and communicate with people they care about. There are a zillion ways of "being". I want work WITH you to gain clarity, perspective, direction, and to feel good about who you are. My communication style The therapeutic relationship is valuable to me. I am open, friendly and kind. I'm not afraid to ask the hard questions. I cannot promise that you will never be uncomfortable because I believe that we sometimes need to explore some "darker" places to come through to the light. I want you to feel safe, valued, and as open as possible. My journey to mental healthcare Psychology and therapy helped my to understand my own childhood and history at a time when it was especially beneficial (as a young adult). I was a therapist right out of grad school and have always held positions in which I could and support others (Especially 18-30 year olds) You will get to know me and my journey better if we work together. My goals for you I will work with you to formulate goals that are realistic and achievable. I believe that goals can be very fluid depending what is going on in your life and how much you are willing and/or able to take on.
