Sang Wu, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Sang! Hello, my name is Sang Wu, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and have been practicing for 9 years. I am an attachment-based therapist utilizing Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) as my theoretical orientation to work with adults who feel stuck in their current lives and individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression. I assist them in navigating crucial moments, difficult forks in the road of life, and uncertain futures, helping them live their best lives. My approach I believe your initial attachment (age 0-5) with your main caregiver shapes how you view the world and yourself. It forms the basis of your sense of self, your value, and your self-worth. I will work with you to explore, identify, and create the paradigm shift that leads to healthier self-talk and behavior patterns. I mainly utilize Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) in my theoretical orientation because I believe it is not what people say but how they make us feel that leaves the biggest impression. We all have a biological need to connect with others, and the quality of those relationships is determined by the emotions involved. Using EFT interventions, we will build emotional knowledge, become more attuned to your own emotions, and develop empathy and compassion through mindfulness practices. My focus I work with adults who feel stuck in their current lives and individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression. I assist them in navigating crucial moments, difficult forks in the road, and uncertain futures, helping them live their best lives. Being a product of multiple cultures myself, I especially enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds-particularly those who struggle with cultural differences and feel pulled between two or more perspectives and voices.
