Hi there, I'm Santricoa!
Santricoa “Rico” Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (SW16155) in the state of Florida. Rico has a strong foundation working with individuals and families who struggle with a wide range of mental health issues such as: depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, anger, addiction and more. Rico’s educational background includes a MA in Social Work from the University of Central Florida Orlando, Florida. Rico has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered and Solution Focused Therapies. He is also certified in Post-Traumatic Stress in those who have served in our US Military and Behavioral Health Case Management. Rico strives to create a safe and encouraging atmosphere in which clients can be supported in their efforts to change and grow. He also seeks to assist clients in identifying or reconnect to their unique strengths in order to realize their full potential and achieve their goals.
My approach
My name is Rico Nelson. I have a strong foundation working with individuals and families who struggle with a wide range of mental health issues such as: depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, anger, addiction and more. I take special interest in building a positive, caring therapeutic rapport to ensure the client feels safe and well supported regardless of the issue(s). I work hard to help clients identify their core issues and develop a treatment plan that has a client-centered focus that maximizes personal strengths and promote empowerment.
My focus
I work with all clients and specialize in issues related to stress, anxiety, LGBT, family and relationship issues, grief, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, anger management, self-esteem, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, ADHD, abandonment, aging and geriatric, trauma, PTSD, and blended family issues.

Counseling with Santricoa Nelson has been the best counseling experience I've ever had. He's very kind, understanding encouraging, and very relatable. I'm very comfortable talking to him and sharing parts of my life and my experiences that need work. To top it all off he's a Christian which is something I've always wanted a counselor to be. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to work with him.

Santricoa is amazing. I genuinely feel like he wants to understand my thoughts and issues and help me get to the root of them. In two sessions he has already given me techniques and insight to help me with certain issues. I truly look forward to every session and leave each one feeling has if I have just gained amazing insight on myself.
