Perhaps your challenges are feeling overwhelming right now. You don't need to hide the thing about yourself that others-or you, find difficult or unacceptable. I'm not afraid of what's going on with you, no matter how big or scary you think it is. On the contrary, I welcome it. My approach I specialize in a type of therapy that believes your problem is not who you are. The issue lives in the world, not in you. In narrative therapy, we put your problem in front of us, then step back and examine it. Looking at the problem as separate from you brings clarity. Your perspective changes; you experience yourself in new ways. We look at how the circumstances of your life impact the story you tell yourself about yourself. This story can be edited, updated, and transformed! The act of rewriting it helps you create a more authentic identity. Even subtle shifts in how you tell your story can change your life. My focus Does the story of your life include experiences of abuse, periods of darkness, or a sense of chaos and overwhelm? I specialize in working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, individuals experiencing treatment-resistant depression, and folks whose lives have been thrown into chaos by the powerful energy of bipolar disorder. I can't wait to support you in reclaiming your life from the clutches of whatever is challenging you! My communication style Working with me, you can expect to be asked novel questions, be allowed to bring forward ALL parts of yourself, and be permitted to explore and experiment. I don't have answers that work for everyone; instead, I offer a collaborative process where your values, gifts, and wonderfulness reveal new possibilities. Don't worry if you aren't sure how to access these parts of yourself, or if you doubt that you contain wonderfulness; that is why you are here. Using the body, the breath, and the present moment as supports, we can unearth your wisdom together.
