Scott Lassiter, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Scott Lassiter, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Orange County, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse/addiction, and trauma. I use psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients cope with current challenges, heal from past experiences, and envision a better future for themselves. My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I create a collaborative atmosphere where we work together as a team to progress toward their goals. Using psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I support clients in healing from past issues, achieving more peace in their lives now, and identifying a more desirable future path. I have found that my style works well with adults facing life transitions, past hurts from families or relationships, or unhealthy coping behaviors. These challenges often present as anxiety, low energy, chronic numbness or pain, fear about the future, and reliance on substances. I work alongside my clients to navigate these transitions and build skills that help them feel better about themselves today while fostering a vision of strength, satisfaction, and hope for the future. My communication style is calm, accommodating, and reassuring. I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing anything with me, and I pride myself on listening without judgment. I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people-whether as an epidemiologist working with the physically ill or mentoring high school students. Becoming a therapist allows me to support others in meaningful, lasting ways.
