CA
Hi there, I'm Shannon! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have been working in counseling since 2010. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from National University. I have experience in Child Welfare, non-profit, and private practice settings with individuals, couples, families, and groups facing various challenges. Much of my work has focused on helping those affected by trauma, with over 12 years supporting this population. I am trained in Trauma-Informed Practice and have helped individuals and families overcome barriers to emotional and psychological safety. Every individual has strengths—I help clients address worries and challenges while identifying strengths to develop skills and solutions that promote well-being. I believe in helping others understand how trauma and challenges have affected their lives and how to look beyond problems toward the possibilities of a peaceful now. I enjoy working with others on their journey to becoming the best version of themselves. My approach I tailor therapy to use the best methods for each client. I commonly use CBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and narrative and experiential therapy. Together with clients, I develop personalized interventions to meet their unique needs and goals. My focus I work with a wide variety of clients, including minors, adults, and couples. I have extensive experience supporting clients who have experienced trauma of all types. I enjoy helping clients address worries and create a preferred future. My communication style I am open and transparent in communication during therapy. Therapy is a place to learn, develop, and practice communication skills that may feel difficult or uncomfortable. I create a safe environment for clients to address worries and develop communication that is confident and clear.
